Staying the course….!
April 16, 2009 "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…." – Charles Dickens It’s interesting times regardless, as we try to determine our best moves in an economy that seems to be defying many of the fundamentals as we have known them in the past. There are some very interesting goings on in many business sectors as people defy the public/market opinions and continue to forge straight ahead! One recent shining example is a company in British Columbia, Canada (Lasso Data Systems) who in a recent news release announced an amazing expansion of its customer base despite this market, with increases in the first Quarter of 2009. This reflects "a strong indicator, that in challenging markets builders are turning to technology to sell their projects and to reduce marketing and sales costs." Lasso is a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions for the real estate industry. It seems Lasso has set a course despite the market woes – and – in the real estate sector! Businesses Find Success on YouTube! March 26, 2009 - YouTube Staff
People are watching hundreds of millions of videos a day on YouTube and uploading hundreds of thousands of videos daily. In fact, every minute, ten hours of video is uploaded to YouTube. Marketers have embraced the YouTube marketing platform as an innovative and engaging vehicle for connecting with their target audiences, and they are increasing sales and exposure for their companies and brands in many different ways. YouTube offers two specific resources: YouTube Insight and YouTube Partner Program. YouTube Insight is a free tool that allows anyone with a YouTube account — users, partners, or advertisers — to view detailed statistics about the videos that they upload to the site. The YouTube Partner Program gives original content creators the chance to generate revenue from their work and receive the same promotional benefits afforded to YouTube’s other professional content partners. One of YouTube’s success stories is Santa Monica-based Demand Media. “While many see YouTube as a destination site, we know that YouTube is also a top search engine. In fact, the largest percentage of our channel views comes from searches on YouTube. So we take that into account and utilize many of YouTube’s services for increasing discoverability of long-tail content so that we do not have to rely on hits from general search engines to be successful," says Kydd.
